Transitioning from Portraits to Landscapes doesn't have to be abrupt! With this fun assignment, I challenged my students to take interesting reference photos of bodies in unusual positions that could then be illustrated in such a way that they end up looking like landscapes! A few students were able to just draw the body in such a dreamy way that the landscape just seemed to appear while others utilized mini-figures interacting with the environment to focus the viewer's attention on this as a "place" not a "person". And then someone had to make their nostrils a cavern for tiny people to explore because....boys. :P
