Current Mood: happy tired
Current Triumph: A truly lovely Christmas season making memories and an enjoyable Winter Break with my kiddos doing something new everyday!
Current Bane of my Existence: being needed gets kind of exhausting :P
Current Artist I'm Diggin': Rachel Faucett seems to have created a pretty awesome life! (more below)
Current Product/Tool/Material/Technique: Creativity Kits from Handmade Charlotte. I found this puppet making one at Michaels while looking for something my kids could do together over their Winter Break because I HAVE to have a plan to keep them occupied or I will start resenting that my "vacation" is all about entertaining and caring for others. The aesthetics of their products are so unique, the quality is EXCELLENT, and I just love how thoughtful everything is. You should def check them out!
Current Color Palette: reds
Current Music: This is one of my kid's absolute favorites and somehow it does not drive me insane. :)
Current Food: Candy canes..... can't get enough of em!
Current Movie/TV Show: I love, love, LOVE A Muppet Christmas Carol. One of our family holiday traditions is to watch a different Christmas movie every night from Dec 1-25th but this one def gets more than one showing per year.
Current Book: I listened to Catalyst on Audible this month before bed every night so I'd feel prepared to see Rogue One when it came out in theaters. Really good!
Current Guilty Pleasure: Stricly enforcing "Family Nap Time" everyday from 12-2 during Winter Break. D still takes naps but I make Caleb go play quietly in his room by himself so mama can get a little time to herself. I feel a lil bad about it but it totally falls on me to keep these kids occupied and entertained when they're off from school and hubby's still working so I feel justified in claiming a lil time for my mental health! Ha!
Current Need: Solitude....
Current Want: Hmm, I got just about everything I could think of for Christmas (or returned things for what I actually wanted) so... NADA!
Currently Studying: Just digging in deeper to the Nativity story and trying to teach my kids about Christmas in a way that mentions Santa (St. Nick, a disciple who was a blessing to others and inspires the giving spirit of our culture this time of year because he felt so blessed by God) but focuses on Jesus' birth and what an incredible gift His presence was. I don't want to rob my kids of the magic but we also don't want to deceive them or get them too focused on behavior as a way of earning favor.
